You can now filter Generative Design by presets that you’ve saved on the cloud or locally. This allows you to specify where our AI pulls information from. By allowing you to narrow the inputs, you’ll get more relevant, on-point designs every time.

Revit 2025

Getting ready for the new year! We’ve updated our Revit plugin to support Revit 2025 by transitioning to .NET Core 8. This ensures TestFit remains fully compatible with the latest Revit version, so your workflows stay smooth.



Details:

  • Greatly improved the ability of the high-density solver to solve smaller sites. 
  • Added custom stalls to Generative Design overrides.
  •  Now automatically scrolling to newly created layers in the Sites tab.
  •  Now automatically scrolling to the selected layer when switching back to the Sites tab.
  •  Updated metric presets to match imperial presets.
  •  Parking garages that aren't of type free-shape can now be moved in 3D.
  •  Improved the visual quality of SSAO.

Reported Issues & Bug Fixes:

  •  Restored +/buttons to industrial min/max bay options.
  •  Fixed townhomes, subdivision and garden sites sometimes failing to generate buildings due to site topology.
  •  Fixed industrial solver not properly utilizing space with non-default axes.
  •  Fixed a case where vertically stacked layers could have incorrect elevation in 3D.
  •  Fixed some garden solves being inefficient due to too many road segments.
  •  Fixed a rendering glitch that could occur when drawing the Generative Design bar chart interface.
  •  Added missing f2f and roof toggles on housing and building layers.
  •  Fixed incorrect layer grouping when there are several regions.
  •  Fixed incorrect grouping of free-shaped layers and regions.
  •  Fixed incorrect elevation with manually positioned buildings.
  •  Fixed spaces on underground garage levels being moved above grade after loading the project.
  •  Fixed Generative Design sometimes removing parking when it should not.
  •  Fixed Generative Design ignoring some presets with parking due to filters when it could instead remove the parking.
  •  Fixed multi-site PDF exports showing unnecessary levels.
  •  Made shadows brighter in 3D.
  •  Fixed high-density solver sometimes ignoring holes.
  •  Fixed parking stall average showing 0 sqft for low detail parking areas.
  •  Fixed a crash that could occur after undoing layer shape changes repeatedly.
  •  Increased maximum value for Generative Design filters to 10,000,000.
  •  Changed the Generative Design office filter to only filter core-based buildings and not office layer types.
  •  Fixed a crash that could occur when exporting to PDF with an image layer missing the actual image.
  •  Improved modular unit behavior for certain module width dimensions.
  •  Fixed issues preventing the map from loading some tiles.
  •  Fixed invalid cut-fill parameters after changing a layer's type.
  •  The Generative Design "Add Zoning" button is now greyed out after activation instead of disappearing.
  •  The application now installs on Windows under Program Files\TestFit instead of Program Files\BuildingForge.
  •  Fixed a crash that could occur on some Mac system configurations.
  •  Fixed incorrect elevation of multifamily dependent fill.
  •  Fixed elevation for spaces inside drives.
  •  Fixed z-fighting issue with the terrain mesh.
  •  Fixed the parcel tool not working when on the solves tab.
  •  Fixed delete keyboard shortcut not working in the solves tab.
  •  Fixed a crash that could occur when closing a file after modifying spaces.
  •  Fixed the satellite map source toggle remaining open when not interacting with it.
  •  Now preventing setting all mix fields for building units to 0.
  •  Generative Design now varies the number of building levels from 1-8 instead of 2-8.
  •  Fixed a crash when removing the last parcel entry in Generative Design overrides.
